My conversation with Lauren Flake; Artist, Author, Alzheimer’s daughter, creator of Love of Dixie and #TexasStrong

I’m excited to introduce you to my friend, Lauren Flake.  Lauren and I met when we were both on the launch team for Jen Hatmaker’s book, “For the Love”.  We talk about the experience on the podcast because it was such a unique, beautiful experience of supportive, loving, grace filled community.  We all still keep in touch through Facebook and support each other in a writer’s group as well.

Lauren is the author of, “Where Did My Sweet Grandma Go?”  It is about her mother’s struggle with early onset Alzheimer’s disease. The artwork in the book is by Lauren and her mother.  Lauren has a heart to help build community for women who are also struggling with a mother who has Alzheimer’s disease.  She blogs at Love of Dixie (named after her mother, Dixie) www.loveofdixie.com and also created the #TexasStrong t-shirts that raised over $150,000 for Central Texas Flood Relief!  Listen in to the podcast to hear more of Lauren’s story!
