This is such an important conversation. I’m so grateful to Brandy for her willingness to share her story and to help others in their healing. Brandy is a marriage and family therapist. She is also a two time survivor of suicide loss. She is the author of “The Gift of Second: Healing from the Impact of Suicide”.
“After a suicide, loved ones painfully struggle to make sense of the unexplainable tragedy. The Gift of Second comes alongside loss survivors and helps navigate the common pitfalls for those left behind. This book offers hope and encouragement to guide survivors through this desperate time.”
Brandy is also the founder of the website, thegiftofsecond.com – a community for survivors of suicide loss. Whether you have lost a loved one to suicide or you know someone who has, you will be blessed by Brandy and her story. Please share with others who may benefit from this conversation, the website and/or her book. Brandy wants to help others experience healing in spite of the sorrow.
I’m thrilled to be having a conversation with Alan Graham on the podcast today about his ministry and his new book! He is an inspiration for sure- funny, down to earth, wise and inspiring. I’m so grateful for his “YES!” to sharing his heart with us! Listen in, you will love him!
ABOUT THE BOOK
Homeless. No other word better describes our modern-day suffering. It reveals one of our deepest and most painful conditions—not having a sense of belonging. However, Alan Graham, founder of Mobile Loaves & Fishes and Community First! Village, is improving the quality of life for a vast number of people by sharing his personal story of becoming more human through humanizing others. In Welcome Homeless, Graham delves deep into what it means to be connected to God, the earth, and each other. In doing so, he shows us the home we’ve all longed for but never had.
Graham wants to engrain the human story in you so deeply that you start being who you were made to be—that you start being like the image from which you were made. In Welcome Homeless, Graham also shares the stories of the homeless, and the stories of those whose worldviews have been shifted by the homeless in a raw, humorous, and honest voice. Home is fundamentally a place of connection and of relationships that are life-giving and foundational, and Graham invites you to make everyone feel truly at home by finally inviting those living on the fringes of society into your heart.

It’s not easy to share our most personal, difficult struggles. But that’s exactly what Tina Harris does here on the podcast. She opens up about her marriage and her husband’s addiction to pornography. Their story is one of faith and courage and hope and healing. She shares her story at women’s conferences and has written a book, “Peace Beyond the Tears: Hope after Sexual Betrayal”. You can order her book at http://tinarharris.weebly.com.
Tina is a fierce friend and dedicated prayer warrior. She is the mother of 6 beautiful daughters and has been married to her husband for 25 years! She is a Certified Christian Counselor and a Master Level Certified Yoga Therapist.
While this is not an easy topic, Tina hopes by sharing her story, other women will know they are not alone. We are so grateful to her for her willingness to share and to her husband for encouraging her to do so. God is the God of restoration and healing and we get to witness His power and grace through their story!
Tina’s favorite Scripture is Psalm 30:11 “You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy.”
If you have struggled in this area or you know someone who has, please encourage them to listen in. If not, we hope that this conversation will give you insight and understanding for those who are affected by pornography addiction.
Please pray for Tina as she and two daughters head out on March 4th for a mission trip in the Dominican Republic. You can find more information on her website listed above.
