The 3 P’s: Preparation, Procrastination and Perfectionism

New podcast!

If you are starting a business or trying to grow a business, this will resonate. Or if you are pursuing a passion project like writing a book or creating jewelry or art or starting a ministry…yep, this will resonate. We all struggle with stepping outside of our comfort zone. We love the dreaming and preparing stage but are we willing to step out and actually take action? Are we willing to do so having no idea of the outcome? Do we understand perfectionism holds us back?

The whole point is, we have to be brave and take that first step. So we are back to the ONE THING, the 1%. Doing something that moves us forward!

I share with you the “Law of Diminishing Intent” which was noticed and named by Jim Rohn. Basically, it says that the longer you wait to take action, the less likely you will be to take it.

This is why Mel Robbins teaches the “5 Second Rule”. Thinking too much about a thing keeps us stuck. Action moves us forward.

Listen in and let me know what you think. Do you suffer from procrastination or perfectionism? Have you been “preparing” and dreaming and planning for a long time but are afraid to take an actionable step toward your dream? Waiting may feel safe now but it will kill your dream, your destiny, your potential.

I want to hear from you! What is your business or passion project? What step will you take TODAY to move you forward. Just ONE THING.

DOOOOOO ITTTTTTTT.

Rooting for you!

  • Sue, I really enjoy your inspirational words. Right now I haven’t any real “dream” but I have faith that there is purpose for my life. I am recovering from a rotator cuff tear, bicep tear and bone spurs surgery (8 weeks post-op). Physical therapy is very tough but I am determined to heal. I’ve been told this is a long recovery (as much as a year or more) so I pray for patience and faith. Perhaps that is my dream right now. I also have four grandchildren under the age of 5 who I watch (along with my husband) intermittently. I don’t remember any of my grandparents and desperately want mine to remember me. Perhaps another dream. I love them so much.
I took a yoga class of yours in Western Springs, IL years ago. It was great. A Great Big Yes. Thank you for you!
    Fondly,
    Ann

    • Hi Ann!!
It’s so great to hear from you! I am praying for speedy healing for you and yes, patience and faith when it doesn’t feel speedy enough. How wonderful that you have four grandchildren! They are so blessed to have you and be able to really know you and spend time with you! I am so grateful that my kids had the chance to spend a lot of time with their grandmas when they were young. We moved away from family 5 years ago and we miss them but the memories and the time we all had together when the kids were young is precious!!! Thanks for your comment -it’s great to connect with you again!
Blessings to you and your family!
