The Academy Awards are tonight!! Yippee!! Seriously, this is like the Superbowl for me. I LOVE IT! Soon I will be hunkered down with my Twizzlers and my Peanut m&ms to watch the stars arrive on the red carpet. I’m hoping that one day I can be there in person. It’s on my bucket list.
I also love that show, “Inside the Actor’s Studio”. I haven’t watched in awhile (is it on anymore?) but we used to watch all the time. My favorite part was at the end when the host, James Lipton, asked the questions that were created by Bernard Pivot. He always said “Pivot” in such an annoying manner. He was very dramatic. Saturday Night Live even did some funny skits about the show. Anyway, the questions were good.
One time I had a dinner party and put one question under each plate. We went around and everyone had to answer their question. It was fun. (Actually, I thought it was fun. My friends may have just been playing along hoping they’d get some food soon.)
Here are the questions:
- What is your favorite word?
- What is your least favorite word?
- What turns you on?
- What turns you off?
- What sound or noise do you love?
- What sound or noise do you hate?
- What is your favorite curse word?
- What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
- What profession would you not like to do?
- If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
My favorite question was #10. People’s answers to this question were priceless. Often, these famous actors were moved to tears. Others were condescending about the whole thing. They were thinking, “I’m way too well read to think there is a heaven or a God but I’ll humor this fool.” You could tell a lot about their personalities and psyches with this question… which is why it’s brilliant. You felt like you got a glimpse inside the person.
What would you say? What would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2O6g5G5Fi8 This is a link to part of the interview with Mark Wahlberg on Inside the Actor’s Studio. He has an interesting story and a great answer to my favorite question. Enjoy!
Love the questions. I’ll answer three of them. What turns me on is intelligence and humor.
What turns me off is intolerance. What I’d like to hear when I get to the Pearly Gates is
“Welcome my faithful servant, you gave it your best shot”
