Podcast 25: The Gathering Table

This was such a fun podcast to record! We are literally gathered around a table! The voices you hear are the founders of The Gathering Table, Melissa and Mark Aguillard and Jeff and Cheryl Moehling.  They build beautiful tables that you will absolutely want for your home AND for every table ordered, they give a table to one of their local outreach partner organizations here in Austin.  I was so excited to hear about their business and how they are giving back.  Their tag line is, “Buy One. Unite Many” which I LOVE.  It’s fun to get the inside scoop on how a new venture begins…to get the “why” and meet the people who say, “YES!” to putting their dreams in motion.

God gives us ideas and then we have to actually do the work.  Amen? These couples have been friends for many years and “finally live in the same town”.  They are excited to have the opportunity to live out this greater calling on their lives together.  How great is that??? Listen in and see what they are all about! Then head over to their website and order a table!

Okay…I’m going to explain the essential oil thing to you…in layman’s terms…

fullsizerender-2

Christmas is coming so I’m thinking maybe you are looking for some gifts.  And maybe you have thought about essential oils.  Maybe you have been wanting to try them but have been utterly confused by all the information out there.  I know I was.  I thought about them for YEARS before buying some.  Then I bought some and THEY SAT FOR A LONG TIME before I did anything with them.  But now I have the time, energy and desire to DIVE IN!! And I want to help you!!

Let me explain.  There are several good essential oil companies.  You can read about them on line.  I decided to commit to doTerra.  You may want some detailed explanation about sourcing and purity and giving back.  I’m not going to give that to you because you can go to the website and read all about it.  I did and I like what I read and I’m on board.  But that’s not what you need me for.  You need me because the HOW TO can be confusing.  I’m your “how to” girl.

First, you do not have to sell oils if you want to use oils.

Here is my business page: https://www.mydoterra.com/suebidstrup/#/

Click on the link and browse around.  It’s fun!

If you want to order something, there are three ways you can get your oils through me:

  1. Order retail on my site. Just shop and pay. Done. Fill up those stockings. Easy peasy.
  2. If you want to pay WHOLESALE instead of retail, you can pay $35 to “join” (like a Costco membership) and then you can order what you want, when you want, at wholesale prices.
  3. If you want to pay WHOLESALE  and you want to share with friends and have your own business page and be able to help people get their own oils, then you should sign up to be a WELLNESS ADVOCATE.   You will need to order one of the enrollment kits (the price includes the $35 for this year but you will need to pay the $35 for the following years –  you will get a free oil that equals that amount so it’s a wash).

That’s it. Easy.

If you sign up as a wellness advocate and you never share or sign anyone else up, IT’S OKAY. You don’t have to sell anything!!! But you might want to! You will love the oils and you will want to share them and talk about them and post beautiful pictures about them because they are amazing! Also, the enrollment kits are great ways to start with oils because you get a bunch of the basic ones and lots of info on how to use them.

Does this help?

You can contact me through the business site:  https://www.mydoterra.com/suebidstrup/#/ or comment here or message me on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/SueBidstrupGreatbigyes/

I would love to talk to you about the oils and also help you get some Christmas presents!

I hope this helps break it down and I hope to talk to you more soon about essential oils! I will not pressure you to do anything or sell anything or swim around in a bath of frankincense. I will share with you what has worked for me and what I’m really excited about but I want to meet you where you are and help you get what you want.  If what you want is just one bottle of lemon oil then by all means, I will help you get it! The biggest thing I hope to do is provide you with some answers to your burning questions without you feeling like there is any pressure to “sign up” for anything. This will be like “Oils for dummies” except you’re not dumb.  So it will be “oils for the newbie” or maybe just “friends talking about oils and wellness”.  Yep. That’s it.  Yay! Can’t wait to share!

In the New Year, I Will Wear Jeans That Fit

IMG_3730

I was trying on jeans the other day.  I found a box with a bunch from years past and I tried them all on.  Every brand was in there.  And every size. All the styles…skinny, flared, boot cut, boyfriend, ripped, cropped, light, dark, stretchy, bedazzled.

They represent all the different phases of my life.  There is the young stage, the mom stage, all the sizes up and down the pregnancy years, the fancy going out jeans, the run around town jeans, the ones you wear with your boots and the ones that can handle heels. Some have been tailored to fit like a glove, others hang low, hand me downs from my husband, ripped and torn and way too roomy.  Some have paint splats from my days of painting furniture.  Some are ripped on purpose, others from wear.

There is no other item of clothing that I love more.  Jeans are my jam.  I feel like myself in jeans.  However, I’ve realized that more times than I care to admit, I have worn jeans that make me feel “not myself”.  Trying on all of these jeans the other day, I realized I’m ready to move on.

I’m not saying I won’t keep them. I will pack them away in a box to pull out when I feel like reminiscing.  I will think of them like a living, fashion photo album.  I will love them and appreciate them but I won’t long to be in them.

I have grown up.  I am wiser and a little wider.  And it’s okay if they no longer fit.

In the new year, I will wear jeans that fit. I will put them on like a comfy blanket and I will be warmed.  I will wear them like a boss with my boots and my big blingy Texas belt buckle.  I will wear jeans that make me feel like me.  The real me.  The 46 year old me.  The one who is brave and kind and thoughtful.  The me that understands where she has been and is joyfully expectant about where she is going.  The peaceful yogi me and the silly, loud, singing at the top of her lungs me.  The me that likes to eat and hike and dance and laugh and travel.  The me that mothers teenagers.  The me that humbly understands how small I am.  The me that knows what needs to be done and can do it.  The obedient me. The rebellious me. Flaws and mistakes and successes and all of it.  I like it.  I own it.  I love me.

I have earned this confidence.

You have too.  You’ve earned the right to shine in whatever fits you.

Let’s do this.  Let’s strut together out into the world.  Confident and courageous. Bold and strong. Let’s show our daughters what aging really looks like.  I can see it now and it’s beautiful.

A bing band of women, walking together arm in arm, worthy and beloved, comfortable in their skin…and their jeans.
